"The Tale of Fading Sight"

Once upon a younger day, My vision clear, bright as a ray. Could read the smallest print with glee, No glasses needed, wild and free.

But time, it seems, is quite the tease, Now my eyes don't work with ease. Menus blur, and texts get small, "Is that a 5 or just a squiggle?" I call.

Reading glasses on my nose, Fashion statement? I suppose! Losing them is quite a game, "Check the fridge!" No, not the same.

Driving at night? A brave new quest, Streetlights twinkle, "Is that a test?" Car headlights like stars that shoot, "Stay in your lane!" I give a hoot.

Contacts? Glasses? What a fuss, The search for specs can cause a cuss. And bifocals—oh, what a fright, Switching views, a clumsy sight!

But though my vision’s not as keen, And wrinkles say I’m well past teen, The laughs and love I’ve gathered here, Keep my world bright, my heart sincere.

So here’s to aging, full of cheer, Blurry vision but spirits clear. For in the end, it’s memories dear, That bring the joy we truly revere.
